Bridges, tunnels, retaining walls and culverts are exposed to frost, de-icing salt, moisture and heavy traffic loads. Chloride-induced reinforcement corrosion, spalling and leaking joints shorten the service life considerably. We organise the repair with tested concrete replacement, injection and surface protection systems – matched to the client’s specifications and applicable standards.

Standards, qualification and quality assurance

For road structures in Germany, the contractually agreed version of the ZTV-ING (part 3, section 4) and the owner’s requirements are taken into account, usually based on the structural inspection to DIN 1076. Railway and hydraulic structures have their own rules; other countries apply comparable national standards.

Only qualified crews may carry out the work; pull-off strength, film thickness and climatic conditions are tested and documented. Surface protection systems range from hydrophobic impregnation to trafficable crack-bridging coatings.

Which concrete replacement methods are used?
Depending on the damage, cementitious concrete replacement systems, polymer-modified mortars (PCC), sprayed mortar or sprayed concrete and, for small areas, resin mortar (PC).

Can work be done under traffic?
Often yes, with traffic management and work in sections; closures may be needed for individual steps.
