Electric Vehicle Fire Extinguishing Set
Integrated Concept for Firefighting in Electric Vehicles The Fire Isolator is an integrated concept designed to control fires in electric vehicles and minimize collateral damage. Fires in electric vehicles can reach peak temperatures of over 1500 °C (as demonstrated in the Fire Isolator test). Conventional internal combustion engine vehicles reach about 800 °C. By covering the burning electric vehicle with the Fire Isolator fire blanket, the fire temperature in the test dropped to approximately 600-800 °C. After using the water spray lance and aerosol device, the fire temperature fell to around 200-300 °C. If the battery of the electric vehicle is still heating up (e.g., through the use of monitoring systems) but has not yet caught fire, the Fire Isolator can be used without personal protective equipment. Once the electric vehicle is on fire, the Fire Isolator concept should only be applied using personal protective equipment and a self-contained breathing apparatus. The Fire Isolator fire blanket can be reused up to 6-7 times based on results from our own tests. The T-ISS water spray lance and penetration hammer are designed to meet the SOLAS regulations II-2/10.7.3 for extinguishing fires in enclosed spaces, such as fires in containers (including on ships at sea). However, the model is also suitable for flooding and cooling lithium batteries of electric vehicles. Here is a video about the use of the water mist lance, simulated for a container fire. Not included in the set but available from us: a immersion container / cooling pool, into which the electric vehicle must be subsequently immersed, probably for several days. Not included in the set: a thermal imaging camera. By rendering infrared radiation as visible light, firefighters can see hot spots through smoke, darkness, or heat-permeable barriers. Waste bin for oily rags Rags and cloths soaked with solvents, thinners, linseed oil, flammable adhesives, and other flammable liquids pose a serious fire hazard if disposed of improperly. Proper disposal isolates the contents from ignition sources, restricts oxygen supply, and thus practically eliminates the risk of spontaneous combustion.
