We therefore recommend clear advance warning and marking with traffic sign 112 ("Uneven Road Surface") in combination with traffic sign 274 ("Maximum Speed Limit") on both sides of the road. Design and installation in accordance with the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) are required.

Rather, the road traffic authorities must ensure that the signs remain sufficiently recognizable at all times. Speed Bumps
Speed bumps are ideal for speed reduction within 10 km/h and 30 km/h zones The speed bump made of volcanic rubber is a modular "construction kit" with different shaped parts. This allows them to be realized in variable sizes (width and length). Different ramp inclines were deliberately chosen: front and end elements have a gentle slope (1:15), while the side elements rise much steeper (1:3). Effect: High acceptance due to a moderate dynamic driving effect. Road users avoid driving over the side area sloping towards the curb. The often observed "sideways evasive maneuver" usually does not occur. All elements have a dimension of 45 x 100 x 7.5 cm (W x L x H). The starting elements are wedge-shaped, rising from 0.8 cm to 7.5 cm. The middle elements are uniformly 7.5 cm high. For better bonding, the elements are connected to each other using tongue and groove joints. Additional support is provided by an H-profile made of steel. Installation is done by doweling. Fastening materials included (6 dowels and screws per element). The elements are dyed black throughout, with white reflective surfaces. White triangles in the driving direction and rectangles running laterally for visually delimiting the plateau. Depending on the road width, four different plateau cushions have been predefined. (The side distances to the curb should be between 60 and 80 cm).
