Tanks, basins and bunds in the chemical, electroplating and process industries must withstand acids, alkalis and solvents permanently. Even small defects lead to corrosion, leaks and consequential damage. We organise the coating or lining with a system matched to substrate, medium and temperature range.

Water protection rules and evidence

Areas and bunds in facilities handling substances hazardous to water must be tight and resistant. In Germany, whether a certified specialist contractor is required follows from section 45 AwSV; the necessary approvals of the coating system are checked for each project. Not every chemical tank is a regulated facility – there the chemical-resistant lining is the focus. Other countries have comparable rules.

The executing contractor and the required qualification are named in the quotation and can be checked in advance. Documentation includes – system evidence, film thickness, tightness or pore testing according to the test concept, and execution records.

Can an old coating be refurbished?
Partly, after checking adhesion and compatibility; a complete new build-up is often the safer solution.
