Product information "WATCO Epoxyguard Premium Kalttrocknend – cold-cure epoxy floor coating"
Epoxyguard Premium Kalttrocknend (sold in the UK as Epoxicote High Build Cold Cure) is the version of WATCO's high-build epoxy floor coating for unheated halls, warehouses and chilled areas. While the standard version needs a floor temperature of at least 15 °C, this grade cures from 5 °C according to the manufacturer. That makes it possible to coat floors in winter or in spaces that cannot easily be heated.
The solvent-free 2-pack system with 100% solids builds around 220 µm in one coat and gives a glossy, easy-clean finish that resists oil, solvents and cleaning chemicals. Suitable for concrete, wood and metal and for existing floor coatings that are still well bonded. At low temperatures the floor needs more time: according to the manufacturer it takes light traffic after about 30 hours at 5 °C, and full chemical resistance is reached after 7 days. Water should not be allowed to pond on the surface during this period.
Typical applications
- Unheated warehouses and production halls
- Chilled areas, garages and outbuildings
- Areas where oil or chemicals may be spilled
Features
- Cures from 5 °C floor temperature (manufacturer data)
- One coat, 220 µm
