Flowpatch Asphalt-Reparatur (sold in the UK as Flowpatch Asphalt Repair) applies the principle of WATCO's well-known pourable mortar to asphalt and tarmac: mix the powder with water, pour it into the damaged area and smooth it off. For many defects there is no need to cut out and relay. According to the manufacturer the repair takes heavy traffic, including forklifts, after around 4 hours, so car parks and driveways are back in use quickly.
The fibre-reinforced polymer and cement mix fills holes and depressions up to 100 mm deep in a single layer, sets at temperatures as low as 5 °C and can be applied to damp but not wet asphalt. According to the manufacturer it resists oil and grease, does not dust and does not break down through freeze-thaw cycles. The dark grey (anthracite) shade suits asphalt, and it can also be used on concrete. The asphalt should be at least six months old.
