With the Profibus Stripper No. 2 tool, the outer sheath and the underlying shield can be cleanly scored in order to strip the Profibus cable to suit its connector. Using the scale as a visual length gauge in the module, the appropriate stripping length can be selected to prepare the Ethernet cables to suit the FastConnect connector. The usual dimensions for stripping lengths of 17 mm, 20 mm, 24 mm and 30 mm are visually marked in the module. The stripper was developed to score Profibus cables in the range from 5.5 mm to 8 mm precisely with two pairs of blades simultaneously. The cut pattern creates ideal preparation for FastConnect connectors – even with different cable diameters. If required, the blade pairs in the half-shells can be exchanged or renewed as modules.
